WHAT COULD BE:
EXPERIMENTS BETWEEN MONUMENT PRESERVATION AND ARCHITECTURE
Swiss Architecture Museum (S AM), Basel
Duration
05.04.2025-14.09.2025
At a time when the preservation and maintenance of existing buildings is seen as an essential element of the architectural turnaround, the theory and practice of heritage conservation is taking on a new urgency. This exhibition takes a new look at this discipline and explores new possibilities for cooperation with architecture in order to lead the built substance into the future in a sustainable way.
The exhibition is being developed in collaboration with the Chair of Construction Heritage and Monument Conservation
of the ETH Zurich. It represents an important contribution to various events organized by a Swiss-wide network of different institutions and museums on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the European Monument Protection Year 1975.
