WORKING GROUP OF ICOMOS SUISSE

The ICOMOS Suisse Working Group on Heritage 2025 is concerned with research into the architectural heritage of minorities, marginalized groups and people without a lobby. It examines its opportunities and challenges under the premise of (architectural) cultural participation as well as the inclusion and cohesion of society in Switzerland. It is cooperating with partners in Austria and Germany to produce exhibitions that will be shown in the GSA region in 2025. It thus honors the results and achievements of the European Architectural Heritage Year 1975, researches the material and immaterial heritage of minorities, marginalized people and people without a lobby and communicates the results through exhibitions, publications and conferences as well as events and occasions. To this end, it works together with a scientific and a civil society advisory board.

The ICOMOS Suisse Working Group Heritage Year 2025 aims to provide impetus for the future development of the theory and practice of heritage conservation and to discuss an expanded culture of remembrance in Switzerland. The members of the working group are experts from the fields of heritage conservation (ICOMOS, UNESCO, City of Zurich Heritage Commission), architecture, architectural history, heritage protection, curatorial practice and restoration. Its members are or have been active in heritage conservation, research and teaching as well as in political consulting and international relations.
