Department of Construction and Transport Canton Basel-Stadt

During the current legislative period, the Department of Construction and Transport is focusing its activities on four areas of activity: living, working, mobility and quality of life, as well as the three cross-cutting themes of cooperation, customer friendliness and employees. The aim of these priorities of the BVD is to continuously develop Basel as an attractive place to live and work. Careful urban development, versatile use and design of public spaces with plenty of greenery and city-friendly mobility are just as central to this as a sustainable mindset, nature and landscape conservation, maintenance of the architectural heritage and a high level of building culture that gives the city its specific identity.
